also i've been asked to submit to the giant robot year of the rat show so expect something from that in the near future; more info to come

also new work soon i promise

and 8/8 a girl and her robot

so i was thinking to myself what do i love, robots and sexy ladies obviously, and how can i combine those loves, here it is the last of the 8 in two weeks and one of the most successful i think.

hooray for limited pallet

oh and by the way the robot totally counts as a background.

6/8, 7/8

more of the 8 pieces in two weeks which are now done, i'll have that last piece up as soon as it's edited, it's not actually the last chronologically but it's big (as in i had to scan it in 6 pieces) and taking awhile to edit.

pieces 3/8, 4/8/ 5/8

about attraction, really didn't like this in sketch form but somewhere along the lines changed my mind and have come to really like it, mostly i think because i really love the way the girl's head/hair turned out.

another spacegirl, not real happy with the hand/face but i like the shape of the body

spacepersons final

heres the final from the spacepersons sketch from a couple days ago, i finished it last night but didn't get to scan/piece/edit it yesterday. Cut paper as usual with pencil detail work.

I'm still pretty much on track for my 8 pieces in 2 weeks goal expect to see a new sketch soon.

spaceperson

Metro Times Detroit Final

here are final versions of the metro times piece, they decided to go with another person for the cover but asked me to do several interiors so all in all not to bad and turns out i still get paid.

sending you my love

Metro Times Cover

These are sketches for the Metro Times Detroit Cover, unfortunately i'm not sure as they'll actually use them as they have several illustrators send sketches and only pick one to actually use, but oh well turns out i get paid either way. If these get picked there'll also be a couple of interiors b/w pieces as well, i was thinks a few of the birds coming out of the books as single spot illustrations.

hey look i'm officially published

so here it is my big debut in isthmus magazine, so if anyone happens to be in Wisconsin make sure and pick up a copy

the type in front of the image is a bit unfortunate and they had to reduce the size for ad space issues but oh well

i know it's been a while but...

you'll have to wait a bit longer, with finishing up my senior year, getting ready for graduate school, job interviews, work and life in general getting in the way i haven't had much of a chance to update. So in the meantime check out my website which is finally up at www.theartoftylerparker.com

enjoy

couple of finished pieces

it's been a while

it occurs to me that it has been a very long time since i've put anything up here, between grad school aps, classes, work, and stupid life drama i really just haven't had the time so heres a few new things

all of this is just sketchbook stuff, altough right now i feel like i'm getting more finished work out of my sketchbook than anything else
